Whew, a lot happened on
The Carrie Diaries
last night. Like, A LOT. Carrie confronted Weaver, Bennett searched for
a new job, Maggie had pregnancy complications, Mouse tried to spice up
her relationship with West, and Sebastian continued to be a beautiful
angel on Earth. Carrie also won a trip to Paris, but wasn't there to
claim her prize and will forever be known as "the girl who didn't go to
Paris." JK, that nickname was doled out to Lauren Conrad long ago. As usual, we got the deets on Carrie's wardrobe from the show's costume designer, Eric Daman, so check them out below!

The episode opens with Carrie checking out
The New York Post
and--surprise!--finding out that Weaver called her "diminutive,"
"phony," and, worst of all, "suburban" to Page Six. Eric told us,
"Carrie reads
The New York Post's 'Page Six' every day, but
wasn't expecting to see herself being called diminutive. I wanted her
look for this scene to be anything but. I was really looking to have
that idiosyncratic Carrie style shine through and let her look keep a
sense of whimsy while her mood darkened. The photorealism "Funland"
print pencil skirt from Topshop fit the bill (and fit AnnaSophia Robb's
cute curves like a dream!). By pairing it with the Opening Ceremony
navy polka dot crew neck, the look stays chic and just serious enough to
balance the fab T&J turquoise, floral statement necklace."

Style chameleon Larissa rolled into work in the above look, excited
to hand out beepers. Her entire aesthetic in this season is more trendy
and '80s than we're used to seeing from Larissa and that, according to
Eric, was entirely intentional. He explained, "When Larissa gives
beepers to her work mignons she had to be a coordinated trend vision. I
was inspired by 80's beat boys and
Neneh Cherry, of course, for this beeper fashion extravaganza"

After being forced to work on the weekend, Carrie and Bennett are
hoping to change their fates at the Paris party, which Samantha mentions
she can get them into. Eric explained that Carrie's look had to be both
work
and party appropriate and make Weaver #jealz. That's a
lot to achieve with one outfit, so Eric spilled the deets on how he
chose her look, saying, "Her look had to go from work wear to chic
soiree. When I saw this knit number from Torn by Ronny Kobo I knew it
was perfect. The sexy, sassy fit and flare shape is a great day to night
silhouette and lets Weaver know what he's missin! The baroque graphic
design is right at home on the
Interview set and perfection for
a Paris themed party. Paired with purple Kate Spade pumps and neon
color block Paula Cadematori purse keeps it Carrie-licious."
