Try This Stunning Teapot Cake for a Tea Party

To make this fabulous teapot cake first you have to cut a round styrofoam base for the cake. Top it with a cardboard circle. Then make the handle of the tea pot with aqua gum paste as shown. Also make the spout. Cut a circle of aqua gum paste and put it over a same sized cardboard disc.

Then cut simple flowers of pink gum paste and overlap the petals over each other to become 3d flowers. Cut the top parts of two semicircular cakes. Stack the first semicircle sponge over the styrofoam base with frosting in between. Stack the second semicircle sponge to complete a sphere with frosting in between. Cover the whole teapot’s body with frosting. Roll a large sheet of aqua gum paste and cover the teapot. Gather the extra gum paste at two sides as shown and trim off the excess. Join the gaps with water. Poke toothpicks in the handle and spout and fix them on the teapot. Make a 3d semi circle of aqua gum paste and mark lines on it. Put it on the aqua gum paste circle made earlier and make the lid of the teapot. Stick one flower on top of the lid with royal icing.

Make the branches with green gum paste and stick them to the teapot with the help of little water. Stick the flowers and a few leaves too. Detail the teapot with royal icing and voila!
