Best Of MTV Stars' 2013 Style

With the end of the year nigh, we've been reviewing 2013's most stylish stars. We rounded up the musical dudes and ladies whose aesthetic had you talking, we looked at how Miley Cyrus totally nailed the '90s, and we realized that this was totally the year of the designer track.
We now turn our attention to the stars of our very own MTV shows. When they're not crowding our TVs with their beautiful faces, they're stunning on red carpets, sitting front row at Fashion Week, and heading their own fashion empires. MTV stars are a busy bunch, y'all. *hair flip* Let's see what some of their biggest fashion moments were this year!

It's no secret that we LOVE Holland Roden. Sure, we liked her before April, but after watching her slay as MTV.com's Movie Awards Red Carpet correspondent, we fell even harder. Look at the plunging neckline on her black DKNY dress! While her Teen Wolf wardrobe errs on the preppy side, IRL Holland dabbles in menswear-inspired looks in feminine patterns and colors. She also sat front row at five New York Fashion Week shows, so we expect her 2014 style to be as edgy as ever.

Last night's My Crazy Beautiful Life was a study in why being a celebrity is the best. Sure, paparazzi stalk you, but you can also GO TO ALASKA FOR A DATE. In any other occupation, saying, "BRB, going to Alaska to hang out with a man who looks at bears for a living" may be considered somewhat of a faux pas, but for Ke$ha, it was NBD.
Ke$ha's trip provided the backdrop for an impromptu photo shoot, which we had seen some evidence of on Instagram more than two months ago. When Ke$ha posted the photos, we thought they were a preview of her "Timber" video wardrobe. We now know, however, that the video took place in a bar and featured tooth jewelry. What was the reason for the photo shoot, you ask?

On last night's My Crazy Beautiful Life, Ke$ha decided to hold an eBay auction, the proceeds of which will benefit The Humane Society of the United States. The items, as Ke$ha describes them, range from things she wore on red carpets to items from her childhood. During the episode, K$ tweeted the link to her eBay store (#technology) which we, of course, immediately clicked on.
While the Hawaiian shirt from her ex-BF and the "hot and dangerous" Herve Leger dress that we got a preview of in the episode aren't on the site (are they sold out already or did she get cold feet?), the plaid shirt from her "C'Mon" video is. The shirt is her "Awful House" uniform, which she wears before she quits to party in a van with people in animal costumes. Considering her love for full-body furries and the name bestowed upon her fans, her decision to donate money to help dogs is, like, such a no-brainer.

Life's a beach for Lauren Conrad right now. In the last two months alone, she's managed to nab a Cosmo cover AND one seriously studly fiancé. If I were LC, I'd be like, "Welp! I think that pretty much covers it for 2013. My job here is done." But instead of coasting through the remainder of December, Conrad decided to go all can't stop/won't stop on us by releasing a ton of sneak-peek pics from her latest LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's collection, which will hit stores later this month. Stacked with cozy knit sweaters, dainty dresses, and collared blouses, the winter line has made life (no joke) an ACTUAL beach for the designer, who modeled the collection on the sandy shores of Southern California.

For the January 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan, Lauren Conrad put on a bunch of super pretty party dresses and dished on the details of her recent engagement to law school student and former Something Corporate rocker, William Tell. Of course, her hair looks perfect in every shot. Like, SO perfect that I'm starting to think the girl MUST be wearing a wig. Not really, but if there are wigs out there that look like LC's hair, then consider me sold.
Anyway, among the many frocks Lauren wears for her shoot are a pink and purple silk dress with a beaded bodice and a canary yellow number that she accessorizes with a pair of red and neon green open-toed heels. Yes, the color scheme might seem a bit unconventional, but Conrad's confidence (and again, really great hair) makes the whole thing look seamless.

OMG. Looks like yet another former Hills star can take "engagement ring" off their Christmas list this year. Reality star-turned-designer Whitney Port (who's been through her fair share of some very public dating disasters) just got engaged to her producer beau of two years, Tim Rosenman, who she met on the set of her Hills spin-off, The City. We're really happy for them and we're gonna let them finish celebrating, but we are DYING to get a glimpse of the ring, which has yet to be revealed. Will it be round and classic like Lauren Conrad's? A whopping square-cut stunner like Kristen Cavallari's? Something eclectic and vintage that reflects her laid-back, downtown boho style? EEE! Just show us already, kthx! (Also, CONGRATS!)

When you hear the name "Ke$ha," there are a few words that immediately come to mind: "glitter," "penis jewelry," and, as of late, "brightly colored hair" are among them. "Glam," is typically not. We've grown so accustomed to seeing Ke$ha in her sparkling leotards and Solo cup bras that when she put on a dress for her cousin's surprise engagement, we had to rewind the fourth episode of My Crazy Beautiful Life to make sure we weren't seeing things.

It's no secret that here at MTV Style we luhhhhve us a behind-the-scenes look at, well, basically anything. Luckily for us, the new season of Ke$ha's MTV series, My Crazy Beautiful Life is, essentially, an extended BTS look at Ke$ha's life on tour. Count us in.
The second season of My Crazy Beautiful Life premiered last night and we got some more 411 on the ghost that haunts Ke$ha's vagina (a convenient Halloween costume), as well as her family, including her penis-costume wearing mom, Pebe. While the entire show is filled with footage you wouldn't have access to anywhere else, we were most struck by the sight of Ke$ha without her long hair.

Blazers, slacks, pumps, some sensible button-ups and perhaps a high-waisted pencil skirt or two. These are the tried-and-true basics found in most women’s work wardrobes. But for the ladies of Big Tips Texas, MTV’s new reality show about a rowdy lil’ honky-tonk bar outside of Dallas, the key to daily dressing lies in the cut of your underwear. Any lingerie that shows the crease of your butt is a ~definite~ no-go, says Amber (a.k.a. Sexy Kitty), who’s worked at the bar since the day it opened. But throw a sheer chemise on over a thong and it might as well be Casual Friday at Red Neck Heaven. Oh! Well, that makes sense. (Actually, no it doesn’t.)

The LC Lauren Conrad For Kohl's Holiday 2013 Collection Is Here!

It may only be October, but Lauren Conrad and her Kohl's line are ready for the holidays! And after peeping these pics, so are we. Presents, pie, parties = all we need in life. There are a lot of looks here we'd wear (hi, all of them), so many a party invitation needs to be sent our way (or else we'll have a lot of clothes and nowhere to go). Two of our fave looks from the collection are the ones above: totally different but both party perfect. The first pairs a lace tank (it comes in 4 colors!) with jeggings and a black-and-navy colorblock blazer. For a more feminine alternative, Lauren wears a rose tulle maxi skirt with a white top and blazer. Props to LC for including blazers in a number of her looks—since it is, y'know, winter during the holidays, having a jacket as an integral part of your outfit is the BEST. Practical and pretty? Yep, we'll take it.
